Training:

Dr. Files-Hall completed her doctoral training in clinical psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) in Teaneck, NJ and is a licensed psychologist.  She received additional graduate training in school psychology at FDU and is a certified school psychologist.  She completed her predoctoral internship in clinical child psychology at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center in NYC.  Her postdoctoral residency in clinical child psychology was completed in the Florida Hillsborough County School District.  Dr. Files-Hall has pursued extensive specialized training in play therapy through the Association for Play Therapy, Inc. and is a registered play therapist.

Experience:

Dr. Files-Hall has worked in community, clinic, hospital, and school settings.  She has provided child, adolescent, adult, parent, group, and family therapy; completed comprehensive psychological evaluations; provided home and school based consultation services; and taught college courses, most recently at Argosy University.

Dr. Files-Hall has maintained a private practice serving children, adolescents, and their families since 2004.

Dr. Files-Hall’s research interests include ADHD, play therapy, early intervention, family/school assessment and intervention, group-based intervention, consultation, and program development and evaluation.  She has co-authored several articles in peer reviewed journals, co-authored book chapters, and presented at local and national conferences.

She has co-edited a book entitled Empirically Based Play Interventions for Children published by APA Press.  The second edition of Empirically Based Play Interventions for Children is currently in press. She is a past advisory editor for The School Psychologist.
